BIOGRAPHY

Pat Thompson brings a broad and diverse background in railroad Marketing, Sales, Economic Development, Customer Service, Equipment Distribution, and Accounting. His experience spans a 34-year career with BNSF Railway, beginning in the Corporate Management Training program and progressing through various leadership roles for BNSF. Most recently Pat was Director, Economic Development, leading projects related to unit train site location and facility development. This included the development of rail served facilities for Agriculture, Energy, Construction Products, Intermodal, Transloading, and Bulk Warehousing.

During his tenure at BNSF, Pat played a key role in converting potential opportunities into successful completed projects. This included collaboration with Operations, Engineering, Service Design, and Marketing to find creative solutions for new business development. Pat played a key leadership role in streamlining processes and communication that would benefit the BNSF customer base. Throughout his career, Pat has developed key partnerships with real estate developers, engineering firms, transload Partners, customers, and communities.

Pat received an undergraduate degree from the University of St Thomas, in St Paul, Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Christian University.

Pat lives in Keller, TX where he serves on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of the Chisolm Trail in Ft Worth, TX providing guidance on strategic projects and fundraising initiatives.

TRACK RECORD HIGHLIGHTS

  • Directing and leading the successful implementation of economic development projects including Energy, Agriculture, Construction Products and Private Intermodal facilities..
  • Providing and leading site selection services for major manufacturing, energy and warehousing projects.
  • Leading and implementing a third-party logistics solution for a major Renewable Energy facility in the Texas Gulf region.
  • Directing, managing and facilitating the planning and collaboration process for new sales opportunities and economic development projects across the Western US rail market.
  • Streamlining customer experience processes in the rail development project cycle.
